Assignment 5 - Rejects.

I took quite a few extra images for this assignment and played around with various ideas and layouts. I wanted to show a bit of my thought process and some of the shots I rejected.

1/200 f4.8 ISO 3200 42mm -0.3 WB Auto

I was trying to frame mum's face with my sister's arm but it did not really go to plan. The ISO is too high and everything looks way too bright.

I was toying with the idea of creating some kind of still life set up and try and show lighting techniques. I just couldn't get it right and whatever I did it just came out looking uninteresting.

1 f32 ISO 200 58mm -2.7 WB Auto

This is one of my attempts at the shutter speed shot. The speed was way too low so the photo was very washed out. In photoshop I have altered the exposure. It is impossible to guess what the background is which is not what I wanted, it also makes me feel a bit dizzy.

1/25 f5.6 ISO 1000 98mm +1.0 WB Auto

This is the portrait version of the holding hands image. In this photo I feel like the hands are not enough of a focus, the frame is working against them and there is a lot of dead space under them.

Here is the version of the handkerchief on the black background. Whilst I do like the black and white combination there is nothing particularly interesting happening, it just looks as though the handkerchief has been dropped there.
